Killebrew Canyon
Heavenly

About this zone
Killebrew Canyon is Heavenly’s steep, high-consequence expert zone tucked toward the rear of the mountain. It’s built around sustained fall-line pitches, narrow chokes, and a few true no-fall moments where line choice and composure matter more than speed.
Best When
This zone is best early, when the east-facing terrain gets sun and you’re looking for technical skiing before it’s tracked or bumped out. It can also hold snow well when storms come with west wind, since the canyon is sheltered and can load up, so it’s a smart choice when other exposed expert zones get scoured.
Watch Out For
Treat it like consequential terrain, not just another black run. The lines are steep and tight, and rock shelves can be hard to see until you’re on top of them, especially in flat light or early season coverage. Navigation matters too: you need to commit to the traverse and catch the exit that wraps around toward Motts, and you should be ready for side-hilling and managing speed through choke points so you don’t get funneled into trouble.
