Comstock
Northstar

About this zone
Comstock sits at the top of the front side and Mt Pluto, with a mix of groomed lines and gladed turns that skiers use as a hub when they want options. It’s a good fit for strong intermediates looking for comfortable laps and for advanced skiers hunting softer snow in the trees without getting too far off the main flow.
Best When
Right after a storm, when the upper mountain tends to collect more snow and the protected, northeast-facing trees stay soft longer. It’s also a solid choice when you want quick laps that let you bounce between groomers and sheltered snow depending on what’s skiing best.
Watch Out For
Upper Grouse Alley can get heavily moguled, and it can feel like a step up in difficulty once it’s bumped out. If that’s the case, intermediates are usually better off working lower on the ridge before dropping in, where the skiing is typically less demanding.
