About this zone

Siberia is classic upper-mountain advanced terrain built for quick, efficient laps when you want steeper skiing without a lot of travel time. It sits high enough that it often feels a notch colder than the rest of the hill, and it’s exposed enough that wind can shape the snow in a hurry. Give the entrance a quick look before you commit, since the upper bowl can change day to day.

Best When

Right after a storm, this zone tends to hold plenty of snow thanks to its elevation, but it also gets skied fast because it’s such an efficient lap. It’s best when you’re hunting for fresh turns early, then willing to poke around skier’s left and right for pockets once the obvious lines are tracked. If lift lines are short, it’s one of those places where you can stack a lot of quality vertical in a hurry.

Watch Out For

With high winds, you may often encounter hard crusts, especially towards the steeper top sections. Be mindful too of sudden blind rollovers in the long runout section; fun if you know what you're doing, dangerous if not.
